White amorphous powder, odorless, tasteless, insoluble in water and alcohol, slightly soluble in water. Soluble in dilute acid and sodium hydroxide. Reacting with 30% hydrogen peroxide, it releases carbon dioxide to form oxides, which can produce fluorescence when heated at different temperatures of 250-500 degrees. Used as a light astringent, calamine, and as a skin protectant. Raw material for latex products, production of rayon, catalytic desulfurizer. Store in a dry and sealed place.
